StreamMetrics Audience Measurement launches in US
This is all about providing and measuring various kinds of data for streams and esports tournaments.
Data analytics company StreamMetrics has revealed StreamMetrics Audience Measurement, which is a data service that measures audience size, demographics, and engagement for stream and esports viewership, which can then be relayed to publishers, sponsors, tournament organisers, and more.
As well as reach, duration, and average minute audience, this data also highlights geographic viewership by country. It even uses proprietary data from monthly market surveys via anonymised data and API information from platforms like Twitch and YouTube, with data able to be filtered by age, gender, location, ethnicity, and more.
"StreamMetrics' ability to provide data-rich insights to brands, teams, leagues and more, addresses a critical need in the gaming and live streaming industry," said Scott O'Neil, CEO of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, who invested in StreamMetrics. "As the gaming vertical in our organization continues to grow and mature, this actionable and previously unavailable demographic information will prove an invaluable accomplice in our success. We are confident that our Ventures arm, led by Gabe Harris, Brad Farkas and Chip Austin, will continue to identify and bring to market companies at the confluence of sports, technology, entertainment, media and more."
"People are thrilled to finally have access to US viewership measurement data that is cross-platform, rich in demographic viewing insights, and more actionable than global or API-based, Twitch-only numbers," added Gearoid O'Brien, Co-Founder and CEO of StreamMetrics. "Our superior methodology and proprietary data set enable valuable new insights about this massive audience, including the power to segment audience demographic by game title, tournaments, and other streaming events."
StreamMetrics Audience Measurement is available now for the US market, with additional markets on the way.
Is this a good idea?
